Dear Mr. Pettyfer,


We don’t know if you or your representative will read this letter, but in any case, we here in Spain would like you to know that we admire your work very much – that’s why we think it would be a good idea if you represented Jace Wayland (the main male character, in the saga The Mortal Instruments) in the film version that will be shown in cinemas around the world in 2012.


This proposal was first put forward in the USA and has travelled around the world until reaching our country. It would be a dream come true for us if you were in this film, combining your work as an actor playing in the role of one of our favorite characters – if you’re not too busy, of course.


We would now like to explain to you briefly what the role of Jace Wayland consists of:
fighting, hunting and killing demons is what Jace Wayland does; a young expert shadowhunter who deep down seeks revenge for his father’s death. He’s blonde, attractive and sometimes a bit unbearable. After meeting Clary, Jace will have to face up to memories of the past that he would prefer to forget. He’s a character who is greatly tortured by his past. Practically everyone who should love him and protect him have disappeared from his life and he feels really alone – and at some point in his life he decides that no one will ever harm him again and from now on he will make others think that nothing is important to him and so he tries to hide his own unhappiness behind a constant façade full of irony, while at the same time trying to be a hero, fulfilling his duty as a warrior who fights against the forces of evil. He’s a very complex character.


I’ve tried to summarize his character briefly here because I know you don’t have much time to pay attention to us. Basically, we’d like you to play Jace, due to the physical characteristics you share with the character, which someone else could perhaps do, although not as authentically as you could. Secondly, and probably the most important reason, is that most fans of the saga and the writer herself agree that you would provide that personal touch to the character, that unique originality we want our beloved character to have – something which no other actor apart from you would be able to do.
We hope you will reconsider the idea of playing this role.

No sabemos si esta carta la leerá usted o su representante, pero de igual modo,desde España queríamos que supiera que admiramos mucho su trabajo y por eso creemos que seria idoneo para representar a Jace Wayland, el personaje masculino protagonista de la saga The Mortal Instruments en la adaptación cinematográfica que se proyectara en cines de todo el mundo en 2012.


Esta propuesta nació en estados unidos y ha dado la vuela a el mundo hasta llegar a nuestro país.Seria un sueño para nosotros que usted estuviera en esta película,combinando su trabajo como actor y representando a uno de nuestros personajes favoritos,si no esta muy ocupado,por supuesto.


A continuación pasaremos a explicarle de la forma breve lo que consiste representar a Jace Wayland:


Luchar, cazar y matar demonios es a lo que se dedica Jace Wayland. Un joven experto cazador de sombras, que en el fondo busca venganza por la muerte de su padre. Es rubio, atractivo y, a veces, un tanto insoportable. Tras conocer a Clary, Jace tendrá que enfrentarse a recuerdos del pasado que preferiría olvidar. Es un personaje muy torturado por su pasado, practicamente todos las personas que debería quererle y protegerle han desaparecido de su vida y se siente realmente solo y en algún momento de su vida decide que nadie volverá a hacerle daño nunca mas y a partir de hay hace creer a todo el mundo que nada le importaintenta esconder su propia infelicidad detrás de una consistente fachada,cargada de ironía, al mismo que intenta ser un héroe, cumplir con su misión de guerrero que lucha contra las fuerzas del mal. Es un personaje muy complejo. He intentado resumir su carácter en estas breves lineas porque se que no disponen de mucho tiempo para prestarnos atención, básicamente queremos que usted haga de Jace, por las características físicas que comparte con el personaje,que podrían ser facilmente reemplazables,pero quedaría muy falso, y segundo y probablemente la razón mas importante es que la mayoría de los fans de la saga y la propia escritora de la misma estamos descuerado en que usted le aportara al personaje ese toque personal, esa frescura única que queremos que tenga nuestro amado personaje y que no le podrá dar ningún otro actor que no sea usted.
